every night i wonder
how long will i have to wait for you

i took the liberty of calculating
so far it has been an average of an hour

an hour being the sum of all my
twenty-minute coffee
twenty-minute blogging
twenty-minute smoking

this has been my cycle
to patiently kill time
while keeping my sanity intact

because after an hour
is a promise to be with you
and an opportunity to be myself
